AEGIS
TBMD
TSC supports
both Area and NTW TBMD systems engineering and risk reduction activities
to ensure successful introduction of TBMD warfighting capability into
AEGIS baselines. The baselines include LINEBACKER, Baseline 6 Phase
III, Baseline 7 Phase I, Cruiser Conversion Baselines, and Pre-Planned
Product Improvement (P3I) Initiatives.
Navy
Area TBMD
The Navy Area TBMD program will provide an initial defensive capability
against Tactical Ballistic Missiles. This will be accomplished by building
on the successes in the development of the AEGIS Weapon System (AWS)
and the STANDARD Missile (SM-2) programs. TSC support this effort by
assessing simulated performance of various options and participating
in the Navy Review Team.

Theater Wide
The Navy
Theater Wide Program will provide protection against medium/long-range
TBMs for vital political and military assets based on available Sea
Room and Ship Operating Areas. The NTW Program builds on the Navy Area
System and the Block IV Standard Missile. The NTW design assumes completion
of Navy Area modifications in the AEGIS Weapon System (AWS) including
weapons control, SPY-1 Radar, and Command and Control Systems. TSC provides
engineering assessments of system performance to support this program.
