Airport
Surveillance Radar Version 9 (ASR-9)
The ASR-9 is a modular, solid-state, dual-channel, dual-beam, S-band
surveillance radar designed to meet the requirements of the Federal
Aviation Administration for safe, efficient control of air traffic in
the terminal area. The ASR-9 is the replacement to older ASRs at high
density sites and has been in service since the mid-seventies. TSC has
been involved with this ongoing class of FAA Radars and has evaluated
their interfaces. TSC was involved in analyzing and evaluating the ASR-9/Mode-S
to automation interface design.
Airport
Surveillance Radar Version 8 (ASR-8)
The ASR-8
is the precursor to the ASR-9 and is still in wide use at many smaller
sized airports. TSC has:
- Provided
support to the program office.
- Supported
Digitizer Certification Program.
- Modeled
Staggered-PRF MTI w/Log FTC CFAR in clutter simulations.
