Airport Surface Detection Equipment Version X (ASDE-X)

TSC provides systems engineering, development, integration, test, and evaluation support to the ASDE-X program. Involvement has incorporated the following:

• Test and evaluation of developmental systems, which resulted in the development of the technical specification used for system acquisition
  
• Writing of the ASDE-X radar specification
  
• Providing system requirements to support the procurement of the ASDE-X system
  
• Participation in vendor proposal evaluations
  
• Support for the Program Office with technical evaluations of system performance and Test Plan review
  
• Generation of simulations of the ASDE-X Surface Movement Radar (SMR)
  
• Design and development of software tools to model the radar performance , and clutter return responses for use in systems analysis
  
• Participation in the development of the All-Purpose Structured Eurocontrol Radar Information Exchange (ASTERIX) Interface requirements
  
• Review of ASDE-X test plans and procedures
  
• Direction of tests and analysis of test data
  
• Participation in the Contractor Preliminary Testing (CPT) of the system Factory Acceptance Testing Phase 1 (FAT1) for the multilateration performance testing, target identification subpart, and Factory Acceptance Testing Phase 2 (FAT2) performance testing of the SMR antenna

  
  TSC is currently involved in the FAT2 system testing.
