TSC has developed an innovative ECCM technique for application to multiaperture
SAR systems such as Joint STARS. SAR is a critical surveillance technology
that provides an all-weather, day-night, long-range capability for imaging
enemy areas. However, SAR is vulnerable to low cost, mobile or transportable
jammers that are expected to proliferate. TSC’s ECCM technique
enables the reconstruction of a SAR image that is obliterated in the
presence of multiple jammers. The technique was successfully flight
tested using a state-of-the-art airborne SAR testbed and is now being
further refined and evaluated.
