Systems Engineer
Technology
Service Corporation, an employee-owned systems engineering firm, has
several openings for technical professionals to work in Silver Spring,
Maryland. Positions are open at several levels from entry-level through
senior positions. Some travel is required.
TSC is
seeking radar systems engineers to support radar development, acquisition,
and testing for a variety of customers including the Navy and FAA.
This includes state-of-the-art adaptive array radar systems, 3D pencil
beam radars for advanced military applications, and 2D scanning radars
for air traffic surveillance, weather detection, and/or threat detection.
A knowledge of radar theory and principles, and an understanding of
the radar design, development, and implementation process is desirable.
Expected activities include providing technical advice and serving
as the technical interface between the government customers and the
radar manufacturers, interacting with customers, participating in
meetings, and producing technical detailed products.
Applicants
will be expected tp perform technical activities associated with radar
waveforms and signal and data processing techniquies for shipboard
and ATC radars, and active missile seeker applications that provide
robust performance in EMI, ECM, multipath, ducting, and clutter environments.
Knowledge or experience in the following is a plus:
1. Phased array and active aperture antennas, adaptive array processing,
digital beamforming, klystron and solid state transmitter technologies,
receiver and transmitters stability issues, advanced A/D technology,
EMI
2. Digital signal processing including MTI, pulse doppler, Monopulse,
Imaging, and Adaptive techniques, CFARs, Clutter Maps, timing issues
3. Data processing including centroiding, tracker, timing issues,
data loading issues, software; interfaces to combat system and/or
automation systems including required data, quantity of data, data
merging and integration
4. Modeling/simulation of radar, targets, and clutter/weather; testing
and evaluation of radar system performance including developing test
plans and procedures, witnessing tests, and writing test reports for
qualification testing, operational field testing, and factory system-level
testing.
Qualifications:
B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering (with emphasis in signal processing,
communications, or Kalman filters), Math, or Physics.. U.S. Citizenship
required for all positions. Applicants selected will be subject to
a Government Security Investigation and must meet eligibility requirements
for access to classified information.
